STORE 24 SELF STORAGE - HOW IT WORKS

We offer secure and flexible self storage units and Motorhome, Caravan, Campervan, Boat & Vehicle Storage. Book the unit or parking space that is right for you, and store your items. With long opening hours on both our sites you'll be able to access your stuff 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.


Entry and Exit


HOW DO I GET ENTRY TO MY UNIT?

With Store24, you can enter the facility and your unit using your two Pin Codes provided on the morning of your move in date. Before your move in date, you will receive a message to your email with instructions on how to access our facility and your chosen unit. 

The first one is for the automatic electric main gate, this code is unique to you and will cease to work when you move out.

The second code is for the key safe on your unit, the key inside is for the padlock already fitted and is complimentary during your stay.

Gaining access is simple, but if you are in any doubt we recommend moving in on a week day, where we can be reached on the phone for any queries etc.

Our site is accessible 24/7 - 365 days a year.

WILL THERE BE ANY EMPLOYEES ON SITE WHEN I ARRIVE?

Unless you have previously arranged to meet a member of our team on site, it is unlikely there will be any employees on site when you arrive. To keep costs down and our prices low we don’t man the sites all day every day.
 
However our CCTV system is actively monitored off site 24 hours a day.


Packing and Unloading my stuff 

IS THERE ANYONE ON SITE TO HELP ME UNLOAD OR LOAD MY STUFF?

No, you should always plan to unload and pack your items yourself.

ARE THERE ANY STEPS TO ENTER THE FACILITY?

The site is at ground level with no steps.

HOW CLOSE CAN I PARK TO MY UNIT?

Depending on car park availability, you will be able to park directly outside your unit.

ARE THERE ANY DOLLYS OR TROLLEYS AT THE SITE TO AID WITH UNLOADING/PACKING?

Please plan to bring your own assistance if required.

I NEED BOXES AND PACKING MATERIALS. DO YOU SELL THEM?

Not at the moment but we are happy to recommend local companies that do.

Booking my unit


CAN I SEE A UNIT/BAY BEFORE I RENT ONE?

To keep costs down and our prices low we don’t man the sites all day everyday so this can make it difficult to provide this service. All of our units are dry, watertight and cleaned prior to any new customer taking one on and you’re more than welcome to visit site and see the lay of the land through the gate/fencing. If your visit coincides with a site manger being there then of course we can show you the inside of a unit too.

CAN I BOOK ONLINE?

Yes you can. Simply follow the online instructions and you can complete your booking.

CAN I BOOK BY PHONE?

Yes, though it will take longer and the lowest available prices are online.


WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE THERE?

You can pay using any major debit or credit card, including American Express.


CAN I CANCEL BEFORE I MOVE IN EVEN THOUGH I’VE SENT YOU MY PAYMENT DETAILS?

Yes you can. To cancel your booking, either log in to your Store24 account online, or call us on 01639 381177. You will not be charged if you cancel before your move in date.

CAN I CHANGE MY PAYMENT CARD?

Yes you can. Log into your Store24 account, click on 'View Payment Details' and add a new card.


USING A CONTAINER  


WHAT SIZE ARE THE CONTAINERS?

The majority of our units are 20 ft long, by 8 ft wide by about 8 ft height. That’s 160 sqft of storage space. Equivalent in volume to around 2 Luton vans and large enough for the contents of a 2 – 3 bed house.

ARE THE UNITS WATER PROOF?

Yes the containers are fully water tight.

WHAT ABOUT CONDENSATION?

Being water tight means no external water will penetrate into the units – but that also means moisture can find it difficult to escape the containers as well.
 
So it is important that users do not stow wet or damp items as this can lead to the build-up of condensation– especially during cold winter snaps.
 
To counter this:

  • We advise customers to air out their units on sunny days at least once every couple of months.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE MY KEY?

If you do lose your key we will replace it at cost.

If you require a replacement key urgently though, an emergency call out fee may also be charged.

WHEN CAN I ACCESS THE SITE?

Whenever it suits you! All our sites are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

CAN I STORE A CAR / VEHICLE IN THE UNIT?

If it fits then sure. However fuel in cans/containers may not be stored. Also please bear in mind you must leave your unit in the same clean condition in which you took it on – you will be charged for the cleaning of any oil stains on the floor etc!

CAN I WORK FROM THE UNIT?

Yes by all means – it’s your space – treat it as a garage, stock room, material store as you see fit.

CAN I LEAVE RUBBISH, UNWANTED ITEMS IN THE UNIT?

Your container must be left totally empty and in the same state of cleanliness in which you took it on. We will charge you a fee for removing any left items or any cleaning required.


USING A PARKING BAY


DO I NEED INSURANCE?

Yes. All of our sites are covered by public liability insurance but, as the value and type of customers vehicles all differ, we cannot provide insurance for the vehicle you store with us (or for contents of items stored in Motor homes / Campers etc).

Often your items may already be insured under your home insurance – we advise checking your policy. 

WHAT SIZE ARE THE PARKING BAYS?

The majority of bays are 12ft by 22ft but this can vary depending on location within a site. Rest assured – we will do our utmost to ensure you have enough space for you needs.

WHERE DO I PARK?

When you sign up you will be allocated a parking bay – this is yours to use as and when you need it.

WHAT ARE THE PARKING RULES?

Park within the lines of your bay and try and provide equal space on both sides. Do not infringe onto your neighbours bay under any circumstance.

All gas bottles should be removed from motorhomes and caravans if the cylinders cannot be removed they must be isolated and disconnected.

WHAT IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS PARKED IN MY BAY?

If someone has parked in your space or your neighbour has infringed into your bay please let us know immediately and we will get it sorted for you.
 
If you are resultantly not able to park fully in your bay then please use one of the temporary bays provided on site. Do not park in your bay and squeeze up your other neighbour – we want to prevent a knock on effect.

WHEN CAN I ACCESS MY VAN?

Whenever it suits you! All our sites are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
So don’t worry if its gone 1AM when you come back from your hols – you can still drop off your van at site.

IS THERE WATER ON SITE?

Yes there is water on site to be used for cleaning vans etc

IS THERE ELECTRICITY ON SITE?

Yes there is electric on site to be used for cleaning vans etc


Moving out


I WANT TO MOVE OUT AND/OR CANCEL FUTURE PAYMENTS. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

The quickest way to move out is to log into your Store24 account online and cancel. If you require any assistance, call us on 01639 381177.

I WANT TO MOVE OUT IMMEDIATELY. CAN I GET A REFUND ON PAYMENTS MADE TO DATE?

You can move out at any time. However, payments are made monthly in advance and are non-refundable.

CLEANLINESS

Please ensure the unit left totally empty and in the same state of cleanliness as when you took it on.

RETURNING KEYS

Please leave the container locked and pop the key into the key safe box on the front of the unit.
